Suggest Remedy For Difficulty In Falling Asleep With Sleep Disorder In Children

My 7- year old daughter struggles to fall asleep. She complains of the heat even when her room is cool and her bedding is light. She also wakes after the first sleep cycle and needs to have someone sit with her or to climb into our bed to fall asleep again. She could also wake again during the night if she s in her own bed and come and fetch me to go and sleep with her. She has always been a poor sleeper but it seems to be particularly bad at the moment. Please help! I m so exhausted and sleep deprived!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The difficulty in falling asleep with 7 years old child can be related to:
- Sibling anxiety
- Inadequate day time activity
- Lack of parental bonding
- Sleep cycle disturbances of REM sleep

An evaluation with expert pediatric neurologist is best recommended to get details of the issue.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
