Suggest Remedy For Dilated Pupils And Sensitivity To Light
My brother got a dilated pupil in the right eye after going outside in bright sunlight without sunglasses. The dilated pupil persisted for a while and he still sensitive to sunlight. He was prescribed a decongestive nasal spray HYSAN ADULT and KETOFTIL 0.05% eye drops for acute and chronic conjunctivitis. He is still sensitive to sunlight. Thanks for your advice.
Hello, I had gone through your query and understand your concern.
Short answer: Continue with same medication
Detailed answer: Thank you for asking.
Whenever there is dilatation of pupil it is common to have sensitivity to light as our eye will not be in a condition to control the amount of light entering eye. As your brother is having dilated pupil due an infection of the eye or due to medication used during the examination of his eye, it takes few for the pupil to come back to its normal size. Once the pupil is fine he will not have any problem of sensitivity. Ask him to use dark glasses to reduce the problem.
Hope this helps.
If you have any other queries I'll be happy too help.
Regards, Dr.Prathap Kumar
