Suggest Remedy For Dizziness And Nausea After Taking Clozapine

Hi, my sister's height is 164 cm weight 86.6 kg, 42 years old and her BP reading is 100/80. She was complaining of dizziness and nausea. She has not done anything unusual the only medication that she takes is clozapine 25mg twice a day for the last 10 years. I know that she was not feeling good, what do you think is going on?
Thanks

Hello
As you mentioned that your sister is taking clozapine 25 mg twice in day for 10 years . This is prescribed as an antipsycotic purposes ( schizophrenia ).
Since now your sister is having dizziness and nausea, these symptoms may be due to these possibilities , these include:
1 Hyper acidity , take some antacid but if symptoms are sever ( nausea ) she may need drugs like pantoprazole -d ,as this will help in both nausea as well as dizziness.
2 Hypoglycemia may be the another reason of such symptoms , diagnosis can be confirmed by blood sugar examination.
3 Orthostatic hypotension is the main side effect of clozapine . However in your sister case at present BP is 100 / 80 mm ( this is somewhat lower BP in 42 years patient and is sufficient to produce nausea and dizziness).
In my opinion consult your treating doctor and get his opinion regarding doses reduction (clozapine ).
Hope this will help you.
