Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am 20 years old. I recently started to experience extremely dry lips & random black spots on my lips. I have always always kept my lips moisturized with lip balm, and also drink plenty of water daily so I don t know what s going on. Since this has started I have been using lip balm & Vaseline constantly but still no change.
Understanding your concern. As per your query dry lips with black spots is because of minor traumatization of blood vessels which keeps on forming small spots on lips due to under skin blood accumulation. It could be oral melanotic macules which occurs without any reason but some potential causes are excessive sun exposure and poor oral hygiene. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination and go for biopsy if it keeps on exaggerating to find out exact cause and start treatment as per that. I would suggest you to maintain good oral hygiene and avoid hot and spicy foods. Take antihistamine drug and vitamin b complex supplements. Keep drinking plenty of water.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
