Understanding your concern. As per your query you have excess shortness of breath. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like acid reflux , chest infection , sleeping apnea or cardiac problem . The symptoms can also occur due to condition like asthma , allergic reaction or psychological problem lie stress and anxiety. I would suggest you to consult chest specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order chest x-ray , check vitals and blood test. For now eat light and non spicy specially at night , take steam , take antacid after every meal and keep your head elevated while lying down. Doctor may also refer you to allergy specialist for asthma like condition or ENT specialist .
