Hi, im 47 yrs old. Im having a prolonged menstrual bleeding for almost 3 months now. 4 months ago i had skipped my menstruation, after that, i only had on and off spotting for 2 wks, then the bleeding started until now. What medications should i take to stop the menstrual bleeding and to normalize my menstrual cycle? Thank you..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
The problems like skipping a period or prolonged bleeding suggest that you may now face menopause. Menopause in life event in a female's life (typically between 40 to 50 years of age) when her menstruation ceases. You could take contraceptive pills daily once at same time for 21 days & then stopping them till your bleeding start. You should continue your contraceptive pills for more days if you want to delay your period. If you don't want to take contraceptive pills , you could take an anti-inflammatory drug like Tranexamic acid, when menstrual bleeding starts. It will reduce the pain & duration of menstrual bleeding.
Consult a gynaecologist for more queries.
Hoping your query is solved Good luck
