Suggest Remedy For Extreme Sensitivity To Sounds While Having Hearing Loss And Anxiety
I have anxiety and am taking a med. Lately I ve been very stressed due to work and have noticed that I m very noise sensitive. It stresses me out. I ve recently been diagnosed with hearing loss so I may have some hearing distortions (I have hearing impairment in the higher sound ranges and normal hearing in the lower ranges). But I have never been this noise sensitive before. I just got engaged and my BF is on the loud side and likes to have the TV running. I m having problems to the extent that it s affecting our relationship and making me anxious (more so) about moving together with him. Advise? I m getting my hearing aid in a few days..
Your symptoms are suggestive of presbycusis - condition wherein one becomes sensitive to sound of particular frequency. This condition is usually age related, however, clinical assessment is required to diagnose the condition and thus management. I suggest you to discuss the problem with your ENT doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
