Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have and issue with swelling of the face and top of the head with topical soreness and throbbing pain. I have been checked with x-rays and blood tests no one can figure out what is wrong. It appears like and infection to me but they don t see to treat it as such. The facial swelling is severe and I have had two attacks. As it dissipates it head itches and I get sores or scabs but no open wound.
If there is no infection or any other related symptoms ruled out then it is most probably due to allergic reaction due to any unknown allergen..
So first of all consult an Emergency room and get examined, preferably when the swelling is present and get a blood test done to check for allergies..
If allergic reaction is confirmed as the diagnosis, you can be advised anti allergics like Levocetrizine or Allegra and along with it a steroid shot an be advised.. Do cool compresses over the swollen area.. Drink plenty of water..
If the symptoms still does not still get better you can discuss about Immunotherapy with an Immunologist..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
