Suggest Remedy For Fever And Headaches After Tooth Extraction

I had a lower left wisdom tooth extracted at 5:00pm yesterday. All night I felt feverish but there was no fever on the thermometer in the morning. I continued to take the ibuprofen and amoxicillin , and when I woke up about 30 minutes ago my fever registered at 101.7. I am feeling cold with chills and have a headache. I have called in to the doctor's office and left a message to call me (it's his day off). Should I be concerned?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain fever and headache after extraction can occur as a result of Septicemia in case if there was infection in the tooth and the bacteria gets into blood causing bacteremia and Septicemia leading to raised temperature of body..

Headache can also occur as a result of radiating pain from surgical site that is extraction socket..

You need not to worry and continue taking the medication Amoxicillin and Ibuprofen,Along with it add Calpol three times a day as it will help in reducing fever and infection will reduce with amoxicillin antibiotic..

Hope this information helps..
