Suggest Remedy For Frequent Panic Attacks, Shortness Of Breath And Lightheadness

Hello,
My name is Meghana and im 20 years old. I have been travelling alot in my life and travelling as in moving to different places with the family. These shifts have been between two different countries. Recently almost 3 and a half years back i moved back again to india and had to adjust with the academics here. During this tenure i started facing panic attacks- I work really hard but cry half the time cause im so scared. Short of breath, lightheaded sometimes very rarely chest pains, and a lot of crying occurs just due to my fears. can this be cause of anxiety disorder?

Dear Meghna
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. Panic attacks, panic disorders are always due to underlying anxiety disorder or stress disorder. You need to understand the stress and anxiety problems you are undergoing. You mentioned you are travelling alot and need to adjust with verity of situations while you are doing your education. I appreciate that.

The stress related to that travelling, frequent adjustments and body and mind's inability to cop up with the frequent adjust-mental pressures must have triggered the panic button.

Stress is simply a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical or mental equilibrium. In other words, it's an omnipresent part of life. A stressful event can trigger the “fight-or-flight” response, causing hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to surge through the body. A little bit of stress, known as “acute stress,” can be exciting—it keeps us active and alert. But long-term, or “chronic stress,” can have detrimental effects on health. You may not be able to control the stressors in your world, but you can alter your reaction to them. Physical exercise, creative activities, deep breathing, being away from the situation for sometime etc can help you tackle the stress.

I suggest you to consult a psychologist / psychiatrist for diagnosis and further treatment.
