I am frequently having to urinate started last night. Burns at the end of urinating. Drinking water to flush . Was wondering if I should get cranberry juice? Then call doctor on Monday and try to get an appointment . What is your advice? Thank you for listening.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
At the end of urination there is feeling of burning sensation may be due to these possibilities, these include:
1 Calculus or stone in urinary tract system ( anywhere from kidney to urethra ) .Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of urinary system organs.
2 Urinary tract infection , sometimes burning sensation may be due to UTI. Diagnosis can be confirmed by urine examination.
3 Dehydration is another possibility .
4 Sometimes some irritant eatable develop such feeling ( e.g. if you ate plenty of chillis this produces such burning ).
So drink plenty of liquid .
