Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my wife just had miscarriage and she was diagnosed with a gall bladder polyp just prior to the pregnancy. Our OB/GYN seemed concerned about it. I know that gall bladder problems only get worse during pregnancy, so would you recommmend possibly removing the gall bladder before we get pregnant again
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
I am HPB surgeon and my advice is to have surgery before next pregnancy. Polyps are not concerning at this point but these may cause symptoms usch as pain and nausea and later in life it may become malignant. In pregnancy, usually gallbaldder stones may be problematic an dpolyps less likely, but it is better to operate it now when she is fit and youn than later in life when it may be more difficult to do surgery.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
