Suggest Remedy For Hard Lump At The Site Of Abscess Drain

I had an abcess on my underarm and i recently got it drained with my doctor. He simply lanced the abcsess and it started oozing but he didnt get everything out. Then he packed it and told me to leave it in for 24 hours. After 24 hours passed, i took the packing out and simply but the bandages back on incase it would drain some more. It drained a little bit more and a two days have passed and the abcsess is still hard. Is that normal? It doesnt hurt anymore but im scared that the puss or bacteria will get trapped again if the cut heals.

Hi

Please have patience, It may take some time (two weeks or so) for the swelling to go down significantly

Try rinsing frequently with warm salt water and apply moist heat 3times a day

Take Non steroidal anti inflammatory OTC tablets for swelling and pain control

Keep the affected area in a hygienic condition

Vitamin C tablets and B complex tablets can be taken

Do regular exercise/walking to improve immunity

Wish You Good Health
