I am 67 female, nondrinker, ggt 119, other liver functions normal after some elevation last December at which time I went off Lipitor and they returned to normal. Repeat GGTs remain high. My physician wants me to lose some weight(5 5 1/2 162 lbs.). I had a colonoscopy in December also. Ultrasound didn t show anything except a few fatty deposits in pancreas . thankyou

GGT is one of the important markers of liverinjury and all test point that there is no liver abnormality. 2. Other causes are usually medication. Lots of medicines are known to raise GGT, like antibiotics, NSAIDs, anti-depressants, etc. 3. Correlate with medication. and Yes, weight. reduction is necessary.
