HI I developed Hives 3 days ago and started on telsfast yesterday, which started to clear it up and take all the itching away! However, I woke this morning with them just as bad again and again have taken Telfast, which again has worked a treat! However, I feel I need to double the does (I have taken 2 this morning) and would like to take another 2 this afternoon to have the lasting affect! is that ok? thank you in advance
As per your complain it seems like allergic reaction to any unknown allergen causing swelling and hives along with urticaria.. Taking anti allergic like Telfast [ fexofenadine] can help but the symptoms will keep on relapsing until the irritant r allergen exposure is removed.. I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and he can advise you to get an allergic testing done by getting a blood test and antibodies are formed in the blood and can help in detecting the allergen.. Once the allergen is ruled out the allergist can provide Immunotherapy against the allergen so that the allergic symptoms gets milder.. As of now continue taking Telfast twice a day as well as you can apply a steroid ointment and calamine lotion to soothe the irritated and itching skin but get checked up soon..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
