Hello and thank you for asking on HCM!
I read carefully your concern and understood your query.
The slightly elevated TSH level ( 5.3) that is normalized with
levothyroxine can not be the cause of such situation.
I would recommend, except of a detailed clinical examination, to do also some blood tests;
CBC (
Complete Blood Count, also known as Hemogram; includes
Hemoglobin, WBC and Platelet counts)
Electrolytes (Sodium and Potassium in particular)
HbA1c (Glycosylated Hemoglobin = your last 3 months' glucose level).
Liver function tests (SGOT , SGPT, Albumin, Bilirubin,
Alkaline Phosphatase)
Kidney function tests (BUN,
Creatinine)
Cortisol level at 8.00 am.
25 hydroxy Vitamin D levels (ideal range 40 to 60 ng/ml = 100 to 150 nmol/liter)
Calcium
Will be a pleasure to give you further suggestions after the above results.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
