Suggest Remedy For Infection At The Incision Site Of A Surgery
I had surgery to have my gallbladder removed over 5 years ago. They did 3 incisions. A few weeks after a stitch was trying to come through and the surgeon said not to worry even though it was setting up infection. I showed it to my sons doctor one day and she immediatly numbed it and cut the stitch and pulled it out because of the infection setting in. Well recently of the past few months that same scar is bubbling up like theres a pump coming up in it. It gets hard and itches like you would not believe and it is very sore and painful at times. What could be going on?
Any surgical operation can potentially cause a break in the nerves present in the area.
This can cause abnormal sensations including itching though this may also be indicative of allergies or infection.
Infection should be ruled out if the symptom continues. This would cause the pain that you are noticing but would normally cause redness, increased warmth, discharge as well.
You can try using a topical steroid and antibiotic cream to see if this helps
I hope this helps
