Suggest Remedy For Infection Due To Horse Fly Bite

I have had a horse fly bite for 3 1/2 weeks now and am on my second course of antibiotics as it got infected. I also have a cold feeling and tingling on the same thigh and this has been for the past few days. The bite is oozing and the doctor says she cannot send a swab to the hospital whilst it is so painful. HELP. Are these symptoms related and what should I do as I go away on holiday in a few weeks and would not be able to swim as the bite is quite big and a black.red colour.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The abnormal sensation is likely linked to the infection that is present.

A swab would be able to identify the exact cause of the infection so that the correct treatment can be started and healing can occur.

You may want to consider the use of analgesia prior to the swab so that you do not feel any discomfort from the test.

I hope this helps
