Suggest Remedy For Inflammation Of Olivia Fimbriata Under The Tongue

Hello,
From what i have read here, looks like i have an inflammation of my oliva fimbriata under the tongue. It is very painful, very uncomfortable, and doesn't seem to get better, 2.5 days now. In addition to a few papullar lesions on the inflamed plica, I have pain directly on top (superior aspect) of the tongue and also at the very tip (apex) hurts as well and I can see two symmetrical papillae (one on each side of the apex) that are protruding and are particularly painful. The only thing I can think of is leaving a mouth wash for about 3 min., unintentionally. Would this still be considered inflammation of plica?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain it seems that painful and swollen plica fimbriata along with sore papillae over the tongue tip seems to be due to Apthous Stomatitis leading to inflammation inside mouth and along with it there seems to be apthous ulcers or canker sores..
It can be due to chemical burning with mouthwash as you kept it for 3 minutes which is a pretty long time duration..
Other causes can be deficiency of iron and vitamin B12, stress, physical trauma to the tongue, allergies, acid reflux etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like blood tests can help in diagnosis..
Treatment of underlying cause will relieve the symptoms..
As of now you can start gargling with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine to relieve the symptoms.
You can also take a multivitamin tablet daily..
You can take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Suck ice and do cool water rinses..
Avoid spicy food..
Eat more of yoghurt and also honey for relief..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
