Suggest Remedy For Irregular Bowel Movements In An Infant
Hi, i need pediatric advise. I have a 7 weeks old who has not have regular vowel movement for the Past 3 weeks, She have only pooped 5 times and 3 of them with the help of suppository and 2 are on her own.. she is exclusively breast feed and sometimes expressed breast feed. I have tried all the things that my family Dr. Have advised me to do to help her BM. Ive also been drinking prune juice but still seem to not work. What else can i do?

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of irregular bowel movements which seems to be due to acute gastroenteritis. It could be due to electrolyte imbalance in body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take acetaminophen for fever. You should take proper rest. You should take diet rich in multivitamins. You should do tepid sponging as well. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined. You should get blood tests done to find out underlying cause of fever whether bacterial or viral and start treatment accordingly. You can take paracetamol syrup for fever as well. Your symptoms will resolve in 3-5 days. You should have plenty of fluids to rehydrate.
