Suggest Remedy For Itching Due To Knot At Injection Site
I had blood drawn, and after 10 minutes I noticed a knot had formed above the needle site. So large it was painful to bend my arm. Now 2 hours later it is still swollen and hurts from elbow to my wrist. But there is no show of blood under the skin. I have been icing for the last hour. Is there anything else I should do?
I have gone through your query and can understand..
As per your complain it seems that there has been traumatic injury to soft tissues at the site of injection leading to inflammation and lump formation as well as there can be hematoma formation due to spillage of blood into the soft tissues.. You need not to worry as gradually the bump will resolve.. You should continue icing the area as well as apply heparin gel over it for faster disruption of hematoma and resolution of the lump.. You can also take Ibuprofen for relieving pain as well as apply a numbing gel over it.. Do not scratch over it as it may cause infection..
Hope this information helps..
