Suggest Remedy For Itchy Bruise On The Leg After Getting Stung By A Wasp

Hi I got stung by a wasp on my foot on Friday it was fine got home was sorta burning but went away when I had my foot in front of my fan woke up it was itchy so I itched it without realizing it would make it more itchy and so I have been putting calamine lotion on it (it s still itchy) and then this morning I noticed it had like a bruise thing were I got stung is that normal? Or should I go to the ER?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern....

As per your complain there has been an hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to the wasp sting that releases poisonous chemical in the subcutaneous tissue and the itching is due to allergic reaction..
There is inflammation over the skin as well the soft tissue under skin leading to redness and swelling and even there can be pain..
You need not to worry as gradually when the effect of the sting will wean off the reaction will subside..
You can take Allegra which is an antiallergic medicine and will relieve itching..
For localized relief apply 1% Hydrocortisone ointment over the sting site as it will reduce inflammation and itching locally and provide relief..
Cold packs will also help by reducing inflammation..
