Hello,
Your eye and knee pain are most probably not related. The following are few causes of eye pain:
1) Allergy
2) Blepharitis (
eyelid inflammation)
3) Chalazion (a type of cyst on your eyelid)
4) Cluster headache
5)Complication of eye surgery
6)
Contact lens problem
7) Corneal abrasion (scratch): First aid
8) Corneal herpetic infections (herpes)
9) Dry eyes (decreased production of tears)
10) Ectropion (outwardly turned eyelid)
11) Entropion (inwardly turned eyelid)
12) Eyelid infection
13) Foreign object in the eye
14) Glaucoma (group of conditions that damage the
optic nerve)
Injury, such as from a
blunt trauma or burn
15) Iritis (inflammation of the colored part of the eye)
16) Keratitis (inflammation of the cornea)
17)
Optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve)
18) Pink eye (
conjunctivitis)
19) Scleritis (inflammation of the white part of the eye)
20) Stye (sty) (a red, painful lump near the edge of your eyelid)
21) Uveitis (inflammation of the middle layer of the eye)
Knee pain can be due to:
1) Rheumatoid arthritis
2) Osteoarthritis
3) Knee joint bursitis
4) Meniscal tear
5) Reactive Arthritis
6) Collateral ligament injuries
Few tests like:
1) ESR
2) CRP
3) RA factor
4) X-ray of affected knee joint
Help in specific diagnosis. Treatment of knee pain is with pain relief medication like NSAIDs ibuprofen taken twice daily for 2 weeks. To prevent gastric irritation, tab. Pantop 40 to be taken daily before food. Opioids like oxycodone,
hydrocodone and Tramadol are effective in reducing pain. For meniscal tears surgery may be necessary. You need to have your eye checked by an ophthalmologist as soon as possible.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
