General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, methadone is an opiate used for variety of pain disorders, during phase of de-addiction time and others. The side effects of insomnia (lack of sleep) and increased appetite are in concern with methadone. Addition of melatonin (3 mg) with this at bed time will help for sure.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
