Suggest Remedy For Lightheadedness While On Medication For High BP

Hi my dad has high bp and takes meds for this. He has not been feeling well all day light headed and sick. Lowest reading 176/97 any advice please I am extremely worried as my husband had a stroke last year at 42. Thanks in advance for your help. Julie

I appreciate your concern for your father.
You have not mentioned age of your father but he seems to be in his sixties. Yes this level of Blood pressure is worrisome. If your father is taking antihypertensive medication, either there is a need to add one more antihypertensive drug or increase the dose of current medication. One ECG report should be done to know his heart status and Lipid profile test.
Meanwhile give him salt restricted diet (low sodium salt available in market), ask him to drink lots of water and help him to lower his anxiety or stress.
You also remain calm. This problem can be dealt with. Consult your physician.
