Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a flappy skin hanging between my front teeth I have a gap..the skin just happened today.it's annoying but don't hurt..I used another mirror to see..it's white on my upper gum not much just that one small patch what is it and what can I do to get rid of it
As per your complain a small flap of skin hanging in between the front two teeth can be due to frictional injury to the mucosa of the gums causing tearing and hanging of a small piece of mucosa..
It can also be as a process of regular shedding and reformation of new cells and the piece of mucosa can be a small shed off piece which remained attached to the surface of gums..
It can also be a mucosal tag formed due to overgrowth of mucosa due to any frictional injury..
It can be a small fiboma (due to overgrowth of fibrous tissue).
I would suggest you to consult a dental surgeon and get evaluated and it can be removed by a small surgical process in case of fibroma or mucosal tag while in case of a sloughed or a traumatized piece of mucosa it can be removed of its own or by a dentist if it is firm..
Hope this information helps..
