You most likely have a condition called
encopresis. It is involuntary fecal soilage as a consequence of
chronic constipation. Constipation results in progressive rectal distension and stretching of the anal sphincters. You ultimately lose the normal urge to defecate and eventually stool leaks around the retained fecal mass. Initially you will have diarrhea, followed by
incontinence.
I would recommend:
-you may need to have a doctor eliminate the impaction prior to any treatment.
-Miralax is the best option for disimpaction.
-
Milk of magnesia is an alternative is miralax isn't working
-enema/suppository if
magnesium fails.
-Increase fluids
-increase fiber with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, bran
-try to avoid excessive consumption of bananas, rice, apples
-you should have a soft bowel movement 1-2 times daily
-exercise and physical activity
-the best time to have a bowel movement is in the morning, after eating breakfast, when the normal bowel transit and defecation reflexes are functioning.
-Occasional constipation responsive to simple measures is harmless. Habitual constipation can be a lifelong nuisance.
