Suggest Remedy For Loss Of Sight Despite Cataract Surgery

I am a 62 year old male. Had catarct surgery in both eyes back in December of 2013. Have since had to change presriptions twice. Latest in January of 2015. Am back to the point where I was before I had surgery in the first place. What is going on, and can it be redone or corrected. Getting scared. No night driving at all.

Hello,

The following are few possible causes of loss of sight or blurred vision after surgery:
1) Infection
2) Retinal detachment
3) Lens fragments
4) Dislocated intraocular lens
5) Secondary cataract
6) Swelling in the cornea

You don't need to feel scared as redo surgery can be done and all the above causes are treatable. Please go and see your ophthalmologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
