Suggest Remedy For Low BP Post Medication For Elevated BP
My husband used to have high blood pressure. It used to be 180/120 sometimes. He is on medication for controlling high blood pressure since 2009 (minimal dose). Since last month he has observed that his blood pressure used to be 99/69 to 120/69 and the pulse is 59-62 only. He does not drink or smoke. Is it normal? should he stop taking medication?
Your husband's blood pressure drug dose or duration should be reduced to avoid excess lowering of BP. The dose can be reduced or the drug can be taken once a day at night. After 2 to 3 weeks, blood pressure should be rechecked to confirm whether the same dose can be continued.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
