Suggest Remedy For Low Blood Count While On Treatment For Leukemia

My dad is being treated for leukemia. He is having muscle weakness and loss, dizziness, and has been seen in the e.r. repeatedly for low blood count. He has been receiving blood 2-3 times a week for the last month, but is making no progress. Would like him to get a 2nd opinion, but he s stubborn and won t cooperate.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
It depends on type of leukemia and treatment given. Low blood count may be due to chemotherapy or bone marrow failure. Granulocytes colony stimulating factor are helpful PCV and platelet concentrate are helpful in maintaining rbc and platelet count. Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
It is very common to have low blood count on the treatment of leukemia. To increase blood count either he should go for blood transfusion or he can take granulocytes stimulating factors to improve count. It is prescription based medicine so consult your treating doctor and take treatment accordingly.
