Suggest Remedy For Lump On Wrist On The Site Of Methamphetamine Injection
Hi I have never shot up anything in my life and am one who is willing to try something once nor do I have a problem with any drug specifically but here it goes, about 48 hours ago I was shot up in the wrist (as I now know is a terrible spot) with Meth and about a day later I notice slight swelling in the forearm and at the injection site. Now here I am 48 hours later with a small, flatter I would say quarter-size lump at the site. I am a fairly healthy male and am sure this will pass. I have used hot compresses and ice over the past 48 hours and it has gotten slightly better as in the first moments of symptoms arising I was barely able to move my hand or wrist. Please help me get over this small bump in the road without having to take a trip to the ER as funds are not stable and health insurance is to no avail. I would also like to add that I have also been taking a bit of ibuprofen and some multi vitamins to possibly help my immune system. Thank you for your time.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain lump and pain at the site of injection seems to be due to soft tissue injury leading to inflammation as well as there can be pricking of any blood vessel and causing spillage of blood in soft tissues and there seems to be Hematoma formation.. Severe pain causing difficulty in moving the arm can be due to pricking of any nerve with the needle causing nerve injury and pain along the course of nerve.. Nothing to worry you can do alternate warm and cool compresses over the injection site and continue taking Ibuprofen.. Also apply Heparin containing gel over the lump as it will help in faster disruption of Hematoma.. Take Vitamin B complex..
Hope this information helps.
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
