Suggest Remedy For Migraines Brought On By Contraceptive Pills

I have been on the pill for eleven years without ever having had a problem. Over the weekend, I had a strange situation where I got some tingling in my arm and a slight blue colour in my hand. I went to A&E, who checked my blood pressure, did an ECG and listened to my lungs etc - all fine - but told me to go and see my GP for a check up. He immediately diagnosed a migraine and said that I can no longer be on the pill. The pill was prescribed in the first place because I was having very difficult periods. Given that I only had a very mild headache is this really my only option?
