Suggest Remedy For Mild Abdominal Cramps While Undergoing Infertility Treatment
My doctor confirmed I ovulated on cd 16. She put me on duphaston 10mg twice a day from dpo 3 - dpo 15. Today it s dpo 19 and I have no spotting or bleeding. I do have mild lower abdominal cramps since dpo16. Would duphaston cause a long luteal phase? When should I expect to start bleeding. Thanks
As per my clinical experience, the Duphaston contains Didrogesterone which is a pure progesterone analogue. The effect of Duphaston is to provide pure secretory endometrium in a uterus already primed via effect of estrogen. There are various implications of the use of Duphaston like: - Part of hormone replacement therapy - Treatment of endometriosis - Part of assisted reproductive technique of fertility - Dysfunction uterine bleeding - Infertility due to deficient luteal phase - Pre menstrual symptoms The abdomen cramps are normal part of such therapy and can be controlled with antispasmodic medicine as dicyclomine or drotaverine. The Duphaston does not prolong the length of luteal phase, rather works at the lining of uterus for a desired period of time only.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
