Suggest Remedy For Minimal Arthritis In Knee

MRI shows minimal arthritis, along with wear and tear in my knee. Orthopedic surgeon does not recommend a injection. Physical Therapy and Anti-Inflammatory is not working. What are my other options? Surgeon states if I have surgery it may not fix it, as it s a a minimal stage and there may not be anything to repair.

Hello

I have studied your case.

You can go for arthroscopic knee repair for early stage.

Key hole surgery will give temporary relief for 6 months to 1 year. Key hole surgery may be solution.
In arthroscopic shaving damaged cartilage is smoothened and loose friable cartilage is removed. So it does not cure disease.

Newer modalities for cartilage injury include autologous chondrocyte implantation [ACI] which helps in treatment of cartilage destruction.

Life style modification like
Avoiding steps and using western style toilets etc would be helpful.

I really appreciate your concern, it is all depends upon the underlying changes in knee joint some time it may required knee replacement, some time it can be managed medically too, better to have second opinion, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day
