Suggest Remedy For Morning Sickness During 13 Weeks Of Pregnancy
hi my wife is pregnant at the moment, 13 weeks today. she is having a lot of trouble with morning sickness, we have tried the anti noutious drugs and they are not helping. she is throwing up every hour to every three hours. she has lost 10kg from the start of the pregnancy to now. how worried should I be? which course of action do you suggest.
If there is no response to anti nausea medication Doxylamine with Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) she needs to be examined by an obstetrician. She may also need IV fluids to correct the dehydration.
The cause of severe nausea and vomiting during pregnancy is believed to be a rapidly rising blood level of a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) which is released by the placenta.
So the possibility of Multiple pregnancy and hydatiform mole (the placenta develops into an abnormal mass of grape like sacs with in the uterus).
She may need the following lab tests:
1. CBC 2. Serum electrolytes 3. Urine ketones 4. A pregnancy ultrasound will be done to see if she is carrying twins or more babies and it also checks for a hydatidiform mole.
Hope the suggestions given above could be beneficial in getting her symptoms treated and to rule out the possibility of multiple pregnancy and hydatiform mole.
Best regards.
