my wife had a total hysterectomy in 2003 at the age of 42. She took hormones for 3 years and then her doctor at that time said she had been on them long enough and then took her off them. She started having tremors shortly afterwards, and the same doctor said she had Parkinson s and without testing her gave her Parkinson s meds. After taking first dose, she started having seizures. Parkinson s meds were stopped immediately. Months later, she was diag. with MS and started shots 3 times a day. Long story short, spinal tap showed she had neither. But the tremors have grow into full blown seizures. Had many EEG s, all are normal. Mri s are all normal. but seizures can be stimulated with flashing lights. Forward to current, on Topamax, seizures still happening, most are caused by flashing lights, but some just come, followed by intense headaches. Some weeks multiple seizures, some weeks maybe one or two. Just started with new primary doctor, and new Neurologist. He says just stay on Topamax. As the husband I think meds are ok but cover the symptoms, and no one is looking for what is causing problem. Kinda a band aid. We are frustrated? My question, can hysterectomy have started episodes, hormones imbalance possibly? Any thoughts?
