Suggest Remedy For Nausea And Abdominal Cramps

Hi Doctor: yesterday , around3:00 in the afternoon, I had a meal of frozen shrip, and after 3 or so hours later I experienced nausiar, stomack pains, etc. I went to the veterans hospital at 3:00am the next morning and had a series off salt injections The Doctor gave me a priscription for CIPROFLOXACIN, which I havenot taken, due to the Internets coments aboutits effective ness. What do you suggest? Thank you Doctor

Hi,

It seems you have acute gastroenteritis or good poisoning. The mainstay of treatment is to keep yourself hydrated with plenty of fluids or oral rehydration salt. If there is associated pain in abdomen, fever or blood in stools, then you need to take antibiotics as well, which in this case is ciprofloxacin which is very effective and is drug of choice. However, any medication should be taken only after consultation with your doctor.
