my last CT-scan showed the results below costovertebral junction between the right 11th & 12th ribs, 2cm x 1.7cm. (suspicious malignancy) liver right lobe, multiple hepatic parenchymal lesions. largest is 3.7cm x 2.4cm. (5.6cm x 2.5cm, 2.3cm x 3.6cm2) lymph nodes narrowing the porta hepatis/main portal vein. sclerotic foci bilateral iliac bones? is this bone cancer? & T10 vertebral (matastases). what does this mean? I currently have neuro indocrine carcinoma. right lobe liver resection may, 2001. primary site never found. what is my most likely outcome? I am male 65 years young.
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion it os the same neuroendocrine cancer you have in the past. You are now having metastasis in bones, liver. Neuroendocrine tumours are spreading via blood. So tumour cells can practically involve any part of the body. And liver and bones, being the highly vascular organs, have high tendency for metastasis. So in my opinion it is the metastases only. About life expectancy, metastatic diseases have very poor outcome. Life expectancy is almost 1-2 years only. At this stage I advice you palliative care only. Painkillers and nutritional support is required.
