Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Bleeding from
nasal cavity is called 'epistaxis'. It commonly occurs due to
nasal congestion or infection of nasal cavity. Nose picking precipitates the incident.
Whenever there is active bleeding, his nose needs to be pinched gently for about 5 to 10 minutes. He needs to bend forward and breath through the nose. If his nose is pinched and he bends backwards, blood would get collected in his throat and mouth and make breathing difficult.
Commonly, bleeding occurs due to fragile blood vessels present on the inner side of the nose in 'Little's area'.
The cause for it needs to be investigated. Kindly get the following investigations done:
1. Total and Differential
WBC count.
2. Peripheral blood examination.
3.
Bleeding time and Clotting time.
Once the hematological causes are ruled out, bleeding can be stopped by chemical or electrocautery of blood vessels.
Kindly
consult ENT specialist in this regard for proper evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
