Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Praveen G's Response
Hello, Welcome to HCM,
Bleeding during intercourse is a very common complaint. In the vast majority of individuals the bleeding is nothing serious and will tend to go away on its own.
Most cases of vaginal bleeding after intercourse can occur if you are near the time of your period, bleeding from your uterus and any trauma to the walls of the vagina.
Most of the time this occurs when penetration takes place without enough lubrication. This type of bleeding is usually painful.
Get the blood tests done for bacterial infections like Gonorrhea and Trichomoniasis, culture sensitivity should be done. You also need to get an ultrasound uterus done to rule out any fibroids or polyps. Colposcopy is also needed in such cases
I think you should take an appointment with your Gynecologist for further evaluation of this bleeding. Your doctor will likely be able to tell you the source of bleeding and can suggest the treatment. Thank you.
