We were at a garden party in the afternoon when my 6year old cam to me crying about a pain in the chest (he held the front of his rip cage). He said he d fallen with his chest against the slide but wasn t sure. He struggled with breathing but calmed down again and kept on playing. At bedtime he said again he can t breath properly and that there was something stuck in the food tube . He seemed in moderate pain, there was no bruises or scratches visible, so I put him to bed as usual. At 2.5am he woke up crying and in pain and short of breath, and now he was hot and showed 38degree fever. i helped him to calm down, gae him some painkiller and he is niw sleeping again. as the breathing is involved a I wasn t sure whether to take him straight to the hospital? I will definitely go in the morning, but as he seemed to be able to go back to sleep again after a while, Inthought to wait. Worried it could be the lungs...
