Suggest Remedy For Pain And Pressure In Chest Post Insertion Of Defibrillator
after surgery to insert a defibrillator I developed symtoms including pain and pressure in the chest, an enormous buildup of gas that cause significant pain, swelling of joints and pain around the device. The device was placed under a muscle under my arm and continues to move more than two inches around the area causing pain. The surgery was 2 years ago and I believe the surgery and the pain and stress have inflamed my vagus nerve causing the intense digestive difficulties and assorted pains. My cardiologist has no advice and the internist who ran tests said gall bladder, stomach, and esophagus were fine. No help. I am at wit s end and am considering removal of the device as all this started with its insertionl.
If your cardiologist that has inserted the device say that it is normal than I suggest to do an ultrasound to evaluate it better and especially the muscles in that area. If it causes a lot of discomfort than you just talk with your doctor to take it of and to find another solution for it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
