Suggest Remedy For Pain And Swelling Post-op Right Oroantral Sinus
I am 7 days post-op right oroantral sinus repair with bucal flap, 4 days ago was progressiing nicely, pain was reducing, as well as swelling. Than on day 6 increased pain and now new swelling. Went to surgeon again today who changed my ABT for the 3rd time and increased pain medication. I am very uncomfortable and in a great deal of pain.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Swelling, pain and dicomfort in the surgical site commonly occurs due to infection. Although surgical procedures are followed by oral antibiotics and topical antibiotic, however, sometimes infection of the surgical site can occur.
Debridement of the surgical site, topical antibiotic and painkillers are required for management of the surgical site. Continue the treatment given by your treating doctor. Infection requires few days to subside.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
