Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am feeling a sharp pain around my ear drum every time I have a deep yawn or an internal burp (a burp that does not produce an audible noise). It is a sharp pain that only lasts until I am done yawning or burping. It has been happening for a couple of days now.
As per your query you have pain around ear drum and burping sound . The symptoms you mention in query are indicating to towards a condition known as eustachian tube dysfunction . In this condition infection from untreated upper respiratory track infection spread to ear through eustachian tube . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order certain test for upper respiratory track infection and examine ear with otoscope to rule out ear drum perforation . Doctor may prescribe antibiotic amoxicillin for at least 10 days , decongestants as well as mucolytic agent .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
