Hello,

You are suffering from pain in the back due to rib injury. At the impact point you have very painful breathing. You also have muscle spasms and pain across the left side and the back. You have chills, cold and are also febrile. You had X-ray done and it did not show any fracture. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an orthopedist. Your symptoms may be indicative of Costochondritis, your treating doctor may suggest you to get done an electrocardiograph, X-ray, CT or MRI to detect the pathology causing you discomfort. You will be treated accordingly.

In the meantime, you can take Ibuprofen (Motrin IB) or naproxen sodium (Aleve) for relieve from pain and discomfort. Avoid activities that make your pain worse. Keeping a hot compresses on the painful areas several times a day will help to relieve pain. Sometimes, difficulty in taking a full breath can occur as a result of a pulled spinal muscle, costochondritis and spinal condition like scoliosis or kyphosis.

Nerve impingement can cause shooting pain in your arms and legs. Other medical conditions are herniated disc, strained muscle, broken or bruised ribs that can cause similar symptoms. Serious medical conditions like pulmonary embolism, pleurisy, pneumonia, lung cancer etc., should be ruled out. Get connected to a Physical therapist, you may need massage therapy, stretch exercises, nerve stimulation, etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
