Suggest Remedy For Pain In Feet Due To Arthritis And Loosening Screws

I had a bunionectomy about 15 years ago, pins were place in the top part of my foot. When the pins were removed my toes went right back the way they were before. I since then had another surgery in 2002 to correct my toes but when the podiatrist did the surgery he over corrected it so I then had to have another surgery in 2007 to correct this issue. I now have 8 screws in my foot. I have a great deal of foot pain and the dr did an xray and said I have arthritis in this foot also some of the screws have started loosing. He told me he could make a small incision to remove the screws but I am scared to have anything else done. I was taking 2 Darvocet a day once in the morning and once in evening to control the pain. But since this drug has been taken off the market the dr put me on Ultracet. This is so not working...got any suggestions for pain relief??? I have a stomach ulcer so I cant take any NSAIDS.
