Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query pain in gums after tooth extraction is probably due to healing tissue forming in the extraction socket. Need not to worry. Formation of white layer is normal process of healing . Don't touch extraction socket area with tongue repeatedly as it can dislodge clot. Maintain proper oral hygiene and keep the extraction area clean to avoid any further infection. Rinse with antimicrobial mouthwash once or twice a day. Do warm saline gargles. Suck on ice cubes. If pain and any other symptoms of swelling persists then take Ibuprofen. If pain persists visit dentist once and get it examined. Go for IOPA ( X-ray) and start treatment as per that. Don't chew on hard food substances. Brush and floss daily with supersoft tooth brush.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
