Suggest Remedy For Pain In Hips Causing Difficulty In Walking
Good afternoon, I am 58 years old in good to very good health. My hips have been giving me problems the last couple years and it is now affecting my ability to walk long distances, bending down and playing sports such as golf and riding a bike or motorcycle . I used to play Hockey competitively and skate up until I was about 48 years old. Now my cardio is limited to swimming laps. I workout with a bowflex also.
Pain in the hips causing difficulty in walking is commonly due to injury, overuse or inflammation of the tendons, ligaments and cartilage, etc. Conditions that commonly cause hip pain is osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP. Get blood tests C-reactive protein (CRP), rheumatoid factor and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) antibodies, ESR. Your treating doctor may tell you to do tests.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
