Suggest Remedy For Pain In Legs When On Xanax

I believe that I have restless leg syndrome. I usually get extremely painful Charlie horses usually all night long I have been cleared thru lab values I am presently on Xanax 0.5 tid and zanaflex 4 mg and I have to take ambien 10 mg in order to be able to sleep but sometimes I get them every night for days almost weekly to the point where my legs hurt and I have trouble walking which is horrible for me because I m a nurse and on my feet for almost 8 hrs a night.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

I understand your situation and strongly recommend a re-visit to your doctor. There are numerous underlying conditions that can trigger RLS and they need to be ruled out/diagnosed, and treated if present (e.g. iron deficiency).

I would also recommend medications to increase dopamine production in your brain like rotigotine, pramipexole, etc. and sleep medication like zolpidem, clonazepam, etc. Please speak to your doctor for a change in your treatment regimen as it is most necessary at this point in time.
