Suggest Remedy For Pain In Lower Rib Area Post A Fall

I had a very hard fall tripping over a suitcase and flew the length of the car and fell hard. Both left and right ribs, plus scrapes on elbows, knees etc. my right ribs feel better & everything else is healing. I went & got checked out & everything was bruises & scrapes including my head. The last two days the lower left rib area is getting worse & worse. If I turn, sneeze, breathe or anything the pain is so bad that I can t breathe in a big breath at all. Why is it getting worse?

Hello, After your detailed clinical scenario. It seems your injury is not severe. But you did not mention regarding tests like Xray or CT scan.
Generally, after blunt trauma chest, there are possibilities of ribs fracture, splenic injury on left side, lung contusion and even hemothorax. Sometimes after few days, a very small internal bleed produces hemothorax gradually. It can cause mild constricting pain, increases with deep breathing and coughing. And gradually it increases with breathlessness.
So my advise for you to kindly go for repeat Chest Xray and if report will be normal then go for CT chest. Meanwhile You can take some anagesics with Bronchodilators.
